Chief Financial Officer

Edward W. Kovalefsky is the Chief Financial Officer of the New York Credit Union Association's affiliated entities, which include UsNet and OwnersChoice Funding. These companies provide residential mortgage and shared branching support to credit unions and their members in multiple states.

Prior to joining the Association in 1993 as Chief Financial Officer, Ed was a partner with a regional public accounting firm and the Vice President/Controller of a publicly traded insurance company. During his career, Ed has been actively involved in supporting various civic and not-for-profit organizations. He currently serves as Chairman of the La Salle Institute Board of Trustees.

Ed graduated summa cum laude from the University at Albany with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

Chief Operating Officer

William Bywater joined the New York Credit Union Association as a senior auditor in 1999 and was named audit manager in 2000. In 2002, he assumed the role of director of operations for the New York State Shared Service Centers, now known as Universal Sharing Network (UsNet). He was appointed Chief Operating Officer of UsNet in 2015.

In his current position, William is responsible for developing and implementing the annual and long-term business plans that meet the strategic objectives and direction approved by UsNet’s board of directors. He also oversees UsNet’s business development, annual operating budget, day-to-day operations and network participant training.

Prior to joining the New York Credit Union Association, William served as an accountant and auditor under General Electric’s Financial Management program. A graduate of Hofstra University, William holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance and banking.
