Contact: Public Relations Coordinator Community Resource FCU Signs with UsNet (Albany, NY) –Universal Sharing Network (UsNet) is pleased to announce that Community Resource FCU has joined its shared branching network. The credit union, which was chartered in 1935 and serves more than 6,000 members, has joined the network as both an issuer (a credit union that allows its members to perform transactions at CU Service Centers) and an acquirer (a credit union that opens its branches to members from other shared branching participants for financial transactions). According to Betsy Kindlon, president/CEO at Community Resource FCU, “We are excited to add shared branching as one of our many convenient services. The network allows our members easier access to their accounts locally as well as nationally when they travel or attend college out of the area. Our participation enables us to expand branch locations at a manageable cost.” “We’re pleased to have Community Resource FCU as part of our shared branching network,” said UsNet’s Chief Operating Officer, Marc Inger. “Shared branching is a cooperative effort, one that goes to the heart of credit unions ideals and their ‘people helping people’ philosophy.” As a network member, Community Resource FCU will operate its headquarters in Latham as a CU Service Center. “We are particularly excited about the fact that Community Resource FCU has opened the first CU Service Center in the Capital chapter and hope that this will pave the way for additional network growth,” said Inger. UsNet (Universal Sharing Network) has provided credit unions with a gateway to the national shared branching network since 1993. They are partnered with the largest network provider, CO-OP Shared Branching, which offers participating credit unions and their members access to more than 3,800 CU Service Centers both nationally and internationally.
